Chevrolet is an iconic American brand that once had as a slogan “Baseball, Hotdogs, Apple Pie & Chevrolet,” but things have changed. Today, their automobiles are not only manufactured domestically but at plants in Mexico and Canada as well. Regardless of the point of origin,  Chevy consumers expect quality performance and a smooth ride. As with other vehicles manufactured by General Motors, however, drivers come to find their Chevrolet is a lemon.

Timothy Abeel & Associates, P.C. is the premier consumer law firm that handles Lemon Law claims for Chevrolet owners and lessees throughout all of New Jersey and Pennsylvania, including Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Trenton. Our experienced attorneys are well versed in applicable state Lemon Laws and federal warranty law and can help you obtain significant compensation.

Problem Chevrolet Models

Chevy Customers have experienced problems with many models including the Corvette, Camaro, Cruze Cruze, Impala, Tahoe, Suburban, Traverse, Silverado and Volt. These problems include, but are not limited to:

  • Airbag problems
  • Engine oil leaks
  • Excessive wind noise from the roof
  • Excessive vibration from engine and/or transmission
  • Clunking noises from engines
  • Hesitation when shifting
  • Inoperable air conditioners
  • Navigation system failure
  • Peeling Paint
  • Power steering failure
  • Rough idling
  • Transmission slipping

Chevrolet Silverado Vibration Problems

As has widely been reported, there have been problems related to vibrations in the 2014-2015, 2015-2016 Silverados. Vehicle owners have repeatedly complained that the popular full size pickups begin vibrating while traveling at speeds over 45 miles per hour, leaving drivers with headaches, general discomfort and vertigo. The problems has been attributed to the size of the cabin, support bars in the roof, as well as the tires. After numerous attempted fixes, the problems have persisted for many customers.

Additionally, the Silverado has also been the subject of a recall related to seat issues. Certain 2014 models with manual front seats failed to meet federal safety standards, moving when the vehicle is struck from behind during a collision.

Other Chevrolet Recalls

If you are a Chevrolet owner or lessee who is experiencing a problem with your vehicle that has not been repaired, you should call our office today. Over the years we have successfully handled recalls and claims involving the following models:

  • Malibu - Chevrolet recalled certain 2013 Malibu models over defects in the 8-way power adjustable seat mechanism. The problem was related to the wires in the harness becoming exposed, causing short circuits, smoke and fires. As part of the recall, GM agreed to inspect and repair the harness.
  • Chevrolet Camaro Coupe - Defects were found in certain 2013-2014 Camaro coupes: the airbag warning on the sun visor was likely to peel off, leaving drivers and passengers unaware of the dangers of airbag deployment. GM asked car owners to inspect their visors and dealers were asked to replace defective visors.
  • Chevrolet Sonic - Over 1,500 model-year 2013-2014 Chevy Sonics were recalled because the front fuel tank strap bracket was improperly welded, potentially separating from the vehicle and increasing the risk of fuel leaks and fires.
  • Chevrolet Cruze - Over 3,000 Chevrolet Cruze vehicles made in 2013 were recalled. The right front shaft of the manual transmission could fracture and break. If the vehicle was in use, it would likely lose power, coast along, and stop. If the car is parked when the fracture occurs, the vehicle may unexpectedly move, increasing the risk of accidents.

Experienced Chevrolet Defects Attorney

If your Chevrolet has a defect that impairs the safety and use of the vehicle and the dealer  cannot or refuses to repair it, Timothy Abeel & Associates, P.C. can help you pursue a Lemon Law claim. While there are differences between the Lemon Laws of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, claims can be brought for a number of reasons, provided that the vehicle was under a manufacturer’s warranty when the repairs were attempted.

Although manufacturers are given a reasonable opportunity to make needed repairs, there are limits. If your vehicle was not repaired after numerous attempts or has been out of service for an extended period of time, you may have a valid Lemon Law claim.
