Ford it planning to recall nearly 400,000 mid-size pick-up trucks to replace defective air bags.

Settlement in NJ’s Suit against Newton Audi and Volkswagen
The New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs and the Office of the Attorney General have reached an agreement on a settlement with the company that runs two car dealerships in Newton: Audi and Volkswagen. The civil penalty settlement is more than $31,500. The balance of the $50,000 will be used to cover the state’s investigative and legal costs.

Ford Faces New Class Action Lawsuit in New Jersey
A class action lawsuit against Ford Motor Co. has been filed in federal court in Newark, NJ. The suit claims that a design defect in a number of popular models (including the Explorer, Edge and Lincoln MKX) causes carbon monoxide to enter the passenger cabin. The suit was filed on behalf of New Jersey owners or lessors of the vehicles. Similar suits alleging the same defect have been filed in a number of different states including Florida, New York, California and Texas.

More Vehicles Added to Massive Recall List
In the wake of the Takata air bag recall, Mazda is recalling another 503,000 older cars and 35,000 pick-up trucks for faulty airbags. The recalled cars will need to have their driver’s side airbags replaced while the small pickup trucks will need to have the passenger air bags fixed.
