Infiniti is the luxury division of Japanese automaker Nissan. It debuted in the U.S. for the 1990 model year in competition with other automakers, namely Honda and Toyota, which had also introduced a luxury line-up. Infiniti began as a sporty, premium offering with a respectable standing in the luxury market but it has never caught up to its competitors and, in recent years, it appears to be stumbling. A recent customer satisfaction survey revealed a substantial decline in customer satisfaction and the brand ranked well below the industry average in the J.D. Power 2020 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study.
