The Chevrolet Colorado is a popular mid-size truck from GM, sold alongside its counterpart, the GMC Canyon. The Colorado and the Canyon share the same powertrain but are distinguished by other features such as their off-road capabilities and overall styling. The Colorado has generated decent sales in the US market since its release in 2003, replacing the S-10, and has sold over 100,000 units in the US every year since 2016.

The Colorado is available for the 2021 model year in four trim levels—WT, LT, Z71 and ZR2—which offer three engine options—2.6-liter 4-cylinder, 3.6-liter DOHC V6 and the Duramax 2.8-liter Turbo-Diesel. It has towing capabilities of up to 7,000 lbs with the V6 engine and 7,700lbs with the diesel engine. It is available in rear-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive, with extended or crew cab body styles.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration registers numerous recalls and complaints relating to the Colorado. Complaints range from keys stuck in the ignition to complete loss of power steering. Owners frequently complain about the transmission shuddering, rumbling or slipping. 2016-2018 year models were recalled because the high pressure fuel pump may detach from its mounting flange, increasing the risk of fire. There were multiple recalls of the 2016 Colorado due to improper airbag inflation increasing the risk of injury.
