Matthew Davis is originally from Idaho and moved to Seattle when he started his law practice in 1991. His approach to the practice of law was summed up very well by Ralph Waldo Emerson. “The good lawyer is not the man who has an eye to every side and angle of contingency, and qualifies all his qualifications, but who throws himself on your part so heartily, that he can get you out of a scrape.” Matt has taken more than 25 cases to trial and handled 45 appeals in state and federal courts. His practice has included everything from contract and business disputes to securities cases. In 2017, the City of Seattle enacted an income tax on incomes over $250,000, and Matt represented the lead plaintiff in the case that declared the tax unconstitutional. He recently prevailed at trial in a class action lawsuit representing the residents of a neighborhood in a dispute with the developer,

Matt moved from Seattle to Bellingham in 2021, where he represents individuals and small businesses in a broad range of matters. In his spare time, Matt enjoys reading and hiking and has become a devoted pickleball player with his fiancé.
