Dr. Stephen H. Mackenzie has been an attorney for 35 years, with almost 15 of those being spent with USAID, the UNDP and other international ngo’s.  He has advanced qualifications in human rights/humanitarian law from Harvard University (2009) and a JD from Vermont Law School (1990).  He is also a graduate of Bates college with a degree in sociology and a minor concentration in French.  Since 2017 he has worked primarily on consumer credit matters, including consumer debt, lemon law violations, having won numerous civil trials in this area.

Dr Mackenzie has spent close to 10 years in Afghanistan, over 3 in Iraq, and has done assignments all over the world, primarily in conflict/post-conflict areas.  His primary duties involved  government contracting, as such has a strong background in contract litigation regardless of the specific subject area.

He is also a seasoned criminal litigator, having worked as both a chief prosecutor and defense lawyer in 2 US jurisdictions, as a prosecutor for 2 Indian tribes, and is admitted to practice in the States of Vermont and pending Maine, the federal courts in the same, and before the 1st, 2nd and 9th federal circuits.
