Nissan

Nissan is a Japanese brand that manufactures mainstream cars, trucks and SUVs for a global market. Since 1999, it has been part of the Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi Alliance. Nissan is known for an inconsistent product line in which a few vehicles achieve decent ratings for safety and reliability, and sell well, while others fail. As a brand overall, Nissan struggles at the bottom end of rankings, featuring below industry average for dependability in a J.D. Power 2020 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study. and 14th out of 16 in a U.S. News ranking of 2020 cars. Year after year, it comes in at the back of the pack in customer satisfaction. It is hardly surprising, then, that Nissan made headlines in 2019 for mass staff lay-offs and a spectacular drop in profits. The automaker is struggling and it is reflected in the quality of its products.

They also must issue recalls when defects are detected internally or by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
